Mommy Lies

Sometimes us mommies tell innocent lies to our kids to make things easier - I'm one of those moms.  This morning after a trip to the library, we got back in the car and Charlotte erupted into tears.  She was crying pretty hard and I heard something about swallowing her gum.  I pulled out the phone and got a bit of it.  I guess I shouldn't have told her that little lie "gum is for chewing - and if you swallow it you will get sick".  Poor Cheeto (Madison and I could hardly contain ourselves).

Witches of Every Kind

Sorry the post is so late, but I did want to upload a few pics of Halloween.  It was "Witches Everywhere" at our house this year.

Madison was a "typical" witch and Charlotte was a "good witch".  Madison selected the purple costume to match a Halloween cat she got from Build A Bear a few years back (see cat tied to broom in pic below).  Bug selected Glenda because she was on a Wizard of Oz kick around the time costume selections were being made (and I told  her I wasn't painting her green like the Wicked Witch).

Bug's turn!
The four of us started off with our neighbors, Finn and Grey.

After Charlotte was done, we went home to hand out candy and Madison/Dewayne headed out with an older group.

The girls went to see Santa at Willow Bend this year.  Bug was much more at ease with him and had no problem telling him she was good all year!

Special Time Part 2

As previously mentioned, Madison had her "special time" with Dewayne at the Cotton Bowl.  Based on her non-stop chatter Saturday morning, she had lots of fun.

Super high seats - but she still enjoyed it!

She made the signs all by herself - but left them at home (worried they would get messed up....)

DART Adventures

While Dewayne was hunting, I decided to give the kids a taste of public transportation.  Overall it was fun - even if it was rainy and cold.

We only got solicited for money on our way back (after Madison asked me why "that man wasn't wearing his pants right?")  Now they want to ride the train to the zoo......

Excited and still dry!

Bug always does a "hand-on-hip pose"

Finally!

Bug has FINALLY mastered it!  Yea!!!!

Special Time - Part 1

Each of the girls enjoy spending "special time" with one of us parents.  Madison's "special time" this past weekend was going to the Cotton Bowl with Dewayne (coming in Part 2).  When Charlotte realized Madison was getting to do something fun with Daddy, I declared Friday evening to be "Charlotte and Mommy's special time".  I told her we could go to Chuck E Cheese while Shea and Daddy were at the football game.  (Charlotte has only been to Chuck E Cheese one time -at a birthday party- so she was super pumped that she was going)

Bug talked about it all week and was grinning from ear to ear when I picked her up Friday.  We headed straight to  the germ infested playplace Chuck E Cheese and started right in on the rides.    After a horse ride, monster truck ride, some skee ball (which turned out to be extremely dangerous for the patrons around us) and whack a mole, Bug hung out with "the real Chuck E Cheese".  (It was pretty funny hearing Charlotte tell Madison that she saw the real Chuck E Cheese and danced with him).

Driving like she owns the road!

She was the only "fan" - CEC isn't crowded at 4:45 in the afternoon!

She really enjoyed the "virtual" roller coaster.

After redeeming Charlotte's tickets for some plastic rings and a couple of lollipops (and a thorough round of GermX), we had frozen yogurt for dessert.

Choc. with gummy bears and sprinkles!  Yummy!
It was fun spending "special time" with Bug.  She mentioned she missed Madison, but I know she enjoyed the one on one attention!
